Lead Therapist

At MWPT you will:‍

• Support Office Staff (Office Manager & Reception) by:
  
  • Facilitating communication between office staff and clinical staff, including by not limited to scheduling needs,clinal appeals, etc.
• Support Therapists by:
  
  •  Leading and conducting weekly therapist team meeting, organizing topics and general structure.
  •  Responding to clinical questions andfacilitating conversations to problem solve challenges in therapy including butnot limited to behavior management, goal setting, treatment planning, progressmonitoring, and family engagement.
  • Identifying resources and/orprofessional development opportunities to further therapists’ clinicalexpertise in desired, or needed, areas of clinical practice.
• Support Families by:
  
  •  Ensuring clinicians are consistentlyenforcing policies and procedures set for by MWPT administrative team.
  • Offering support and guidance totherapists regarding best practices in handling various situations related toclinical practice including, but not limited to client attendance, familyparticipation, family opinions and preferences for therapy/goals, and familyinteractions.
• Support Management (Clinical Director) by:
  
  • Communicating challenges reported or observed with clinical staff.
  • Assisting with planning, scheduling, and staffing of clinical group programs such as Social Skills Groups, FeedingGroups and Play Groups.
  • Communicating ideas for changes or additions in clinical policies or procedures.
• Support the MWPT culture by:
  
  • Maintaining an open ear and thoughtful mind for feedback from therapists, managers, office staff, and client’s families about the efficacy of current policies and procedures.
  • Greeting families, clients, and therapists by name.
  • Interacting with clients, families, therapists, office staff and administration with a kind, supportive attitude that maintains focus on kindness, thoughtfulness, and empathy.
  • Fostering a growth mindset for furthering clinical development and evidence-based practices.

What you bring:

• A desire and willingness to make an impact in the communication, confidence, and functional life skills of individuals with developmental delays and disorders.
• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• 4 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in an outpatient pediatric setting.
• Illinois License in Speech Language Pathology.
• Credentialed Speech Language Pathologist in Early Intervention (or willingness to obtain)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA.
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and medical documentation of clinical contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as active listening.
• Be service oriented.
• Experience in instructing, monitoring, and critical thinking.
• A valid driver’s license.
