Midwest Pediatric Therapy's social skills groups are facilitated by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. Weekly group sessions are designed to target pragmatic skills that are commonly needed for children to successfully navigate social situations they encounter at home, in school and within their community.
Our 8-week summer groups focus on teaching and practicing skills that facilitate positive social interaction, such as understanding non-verbal communication, participating in turn-taking, asking & answering questions, holding reciprocal conversations and demonstrating active listening. Parents will be given information on the skills targeted each week so they can help their child practice the skills in daily routines and promote carry-over of skills learning and practice within the group setting.
